Glues are many peoples goto products as its advantages is it doesn't melt white metal kits.

Use each type of glue using its strenghs for different jobs.

Two Part Epoxy :- is a very strong two part glue which can be used for most jobs (cons can be expensive for large bulky models.

Very easy to use, 'Dry' run the joints to glue for position and fit. Open each tube and dispense a small amount (enough of each joint) on some scray card or paper. I use about the size of a garden pea. Take care not to touch the other glue disensed as it can make the tube contents set! Mix the two glues together using a small matchstick or similar, this starts the hardening process so you have about 4-5mins to glue joints. Put a little glue to one joint and press together you can always add a little more if needed. Hold joint until glue has set (approx 4-5minutes) it can be left now and continue to next joint. Full strenght is reached after about 24hrs but I normally find the joint is strong enough to continue to next joint. For easy joints I often join a couple at a time (less glue waste) but judge carefully as the joints need to be supported for 4-5mins..... too many joints and its more difficult. Once dry paint as required.

Cyanoacrylate or Superglue. It isn't as super as manufacturers lead you to beleive. You get what you pay for with Superglue the cheap ones give a brittle joint but are great for small items like gearsticks, the better superglues are the industrial stength ones (more expensive but gives a better tougher less brittle joint. Dry run joints to check for position and fit then simiply put drop on joint and it will flow into the joint and fix. It can take a little while to start to set but you can use cyanoacrylate activator sprays to make an instant set. (I get these off ebay or building supply companies). Superglue is great for small parts were strengh isn't primary concern or for parts which can't getted knocked easily.

UHU Glue :- Isn't as strong as other glues but I find very useful for fixing figures (with fixing pin on foot drill through baseboard) to give a good hold but will allow removal later if required.  Dry run joint na d put a little glue on one surface and assemble. Drawback UHU takes hours to set hard. So limited in its use.

PVA or Wood Glue :- Gives a decent mechanical joint for large surfaces or for glue Wood, Card or Paper. I use for vaccum formed plastics glueing onto substrates but often use with two part epoxy (expensive for large surface) so use a little two part for strengh and then PVA for filling and support. PVA can take hours to dry but does have advange of drying transluent (clear) and gives a brazing style suction/mechancial joint.
